dull skin

Dull skin used to describe skin that has lost its glow or radiance which is often associated with youthful complexions. It can also be used to describe skin that is uneven, dry or pale. Skin dullness can be caused by lack of sleep, dehydration, smoking, heavy drinking, poor nutrition and any other factor that might cause dehydration of your skin or prevent oxygen and nutrients to reach your skin. Lack of exfoliation may also cause skin to appear dull as a build up of skin cells will occur.

The appearance of wrinkles, dark circles and any pigmentation can also worsen the appearance of skin and make it appear more dull and dehydrated.

The easiest way to improve dull skin is to get a good night sleep, drink plenty of water and eat a balanced diet. Avoid activities like smoking, long periods of sun exposure and excessive alcohol consumption. Plenty of fresh air and exercise can improve the skin’s complexion; a good SPF and skin care regime can also improve the appearance of dull skin. Anything else that will also improve the hydration and plumpness of the skin will also help. A regular facial to improve any congestion and increase the amount of nutrients the skin receives will give skin a glowing appearance and improved hydration. Massage tools can improve blood flow around the face and stimulate the skin to improve plumpness and circulation.
